Our Mission

At Strath-MacLean Child Care Centres, we believe in providing exceptional care to all children.

We do this with our team of highly qualified and valued staff. We provide positive learning experiences for children in a safe and loving environment. We strive to make every Strath-MacLean Child Care program a place where the children and our staff can be at their best.

Each day we focus on children’s wellbeing while teaching respect, integrity, and tolerance.

We work with our families, our staff, and our Board of Directors for the success of this mission.

Childhood is a time of play - through play that children acquire important life skills and begin to experiment with their role in society.

Planned and spontaneous daily activities and play experiences allow children to explore, ask and answer questions, solve problems, and offer a variety of social opportunities.

It is our responsibility to build each child’s foundation of inner strength and self confidence, and to help them develop meaningful relationships.

Our History

Strath-MacLean opened its doors in 1992 within James Strath Public School.

In 2019, we expanded into Crestwood Secondary School where we opened our Infant Toddler Centre.

Waitlist Policy

Please join our waitlist by visiting the OneHSN Peterborough Childcare Registry. We recommmend joining the waitlist as early as possible, due to high local demand for licensed childcare. Our waitlist is dynamic, with priority given to families that are already a part of the existing Strath Maclean Childcare and James Strath Public School communities. Due to the changing nature of the list, it can be very difficult to provide accurate information about your position in the waitlist. When a space becomes available, we will reach out via phone call to offer it.
